Hey guys

A friend of mine is having an issue with his iPod and he would like to format it.
it is currently under the Windows format, and everytime he tries to go to the iPod updater to format it, it says it can't mount the iPod.
I tried to plug it into my Powerbook, hopfully for it to prompt me to format for the Mac but it does not mount anything or see anything.
I go to the Disk Utility, and it just spins.....like it sees something but does not know what it is.

Can you format somehow from the unit itself?

Thanks
Who reads this???
