just installed a new hard drive in my dual 1GHz G4, can I just copy everything from my boot drive straight across and reboot from the new drive? Or will I have to reinstall OSX from the install disks? Thanks.

Just copying everything over won't work.

Try Carbon Copy Cloner. It should do what you want.
