Hi,
I'm going back to college next week, and I plan on bringing my HP Deskjet 842c(which I currently use with my G4 under X and 9.1). Anyhow, This printer has both a parallel and USB connection. I'm currently using an Epson Parallel to USB cable(i didn't have a spare A-B USB cable lying around). Anyhow, is it possible that if I use a regular USB cable to connect to my G4, that the Parallel port could be used to connect to my roommates PC? I realize we could not print simultaneously(which isn't a problem at all). This should work right? Has anyone tried this? Thanks for any info.

I have the exact same printer and pulled that stunt off about a week ago. It works, as you already know you both can't print at the same time. But that's about it. Make your roommate pay for the ink refills since you're being so nice.. lol
