Hey Everyone,

I tried to search for an answer to my question on this forum, but I coudn't find anything that addresses it.

I have a 30G Ipod Photo, and I have some scratches on the screen and on the back. I didn't buy a case when I first got the Ipod. Is there a way to order a factory replacement cover for the Ipod?? Do they sell anything that would allow me to replace the entire cover of the Ipod??

Any help would be appriciated.

Thanks,

Rezrez

Yes, go buy some Mothers Plastic polish. It's in a red squeeze container.

Rub it on your screen, and get a soft cloth, and some elbow work.

Keep doing this till your screen is scratch free.

It works on the rest of the iPod too.

a lot cheaper than those iPod cleaning kit, and works just as good.

Same thing happened to me.

I got a NASTY scratch on the screen the first day. I was bummed. Someone mentioned plastic polish. It worked. I then went and bought a case.

But even then with a case, your iPod gets some scratches.

I polish my iPod at least once a month.

I have the same 4G 30g iPhoto as you.

Another substance that works is a brass polish called Brasso. I used it on my 3G iPod and it took most of the scratches out. The really deep ones are still there, but the little surface scratches are gone.

One tip - regardless of which one you use, it's going to take a LONG time. It took me about an hour to remove the scratches from the face of the iPod, and even then it wasn't perfect. I wasn't going for perfection, I just wanted the screen to be more readable and the controls to be more usable. Any good polish takes time to work. If it can remove the scratches within five minutes, then it'll probably eat through the iPod.

"That's Mama Luigi to you, Mario!" *wheeze*

There's a Radtech product called IceKreme that's for iPod scratches. But, hey it's life. Get a case like the Radtech (I love the products) Podsleevz and don't worry about a few lived0in scratches unless it makes the screen unreadable.

You can get it at any retail store like Wal-Mart etc. Frys? I doubt it.
