I've been searching all over the internet and can't get a straight yes or no answer.
Or, any way to test this tomorrow with a test video (give a link) using the demo models?
Also, here's a reference to that "subtle flicker" that I tried to explain happens on the 10.5" but not the 12.9":

if need be I'll take slow-mo on my iPhone tomorrow and prove it.
Well, the display isn't 4K, so you can't show 3840*2160 pixels, but Netflix will apparently use its 4K source to show video on the iPad Pro if you pay for that service. Haven't explicitly tried to play it from my photo library - don't have a phone that will create it, and my old iPad 9.7" is just a sliver over regular HD anyway - but I would guess it works.

Used AppleTV, preferably Gen 3. Try eBay, you can find them cheap sometimes.

The new Mac Pro has up to 30 MB of cache inside the processor itself. That's more than the HD in my first Mac. Somehow I'm still running out of space.
