I am keen to visit, can anyone advise what Hawaii cuisine is like?
What is a typical Hawaiian meal?

One does not simply go to Hawaii for the cuisine.

We went to a pig roast with of course excellent roast pork, fruit, and poi, a kind of taro root mash that was... not bad?

I don't rememeber much about the rest of the meals, must have been more basic USA type. Although this article has some great looking options!

It's all about the scenery and activities.

I've been to Hawaii 3 times, and my only memory of Hawaiian food was this bar:

https://www.dukeswaikiki.com/

The only thing I really remember is the rack on some of the waitresses were just incredible.

I have never heard of a chow mein or chop suey sandwich.

How is sugar on snow weird? Mmm.
https://www.cabotcheese.coop/blog/sugar-snow/

Grapenuts ice cream is not the weirdest flavor of ice cream I've ever had. It's not bad.

Tomalley is an acquired taste but for anyone who eats liver should not be squeamish about tomalley.

Georgia surely has something weirder than boiled peanuts.

It's not. Should have been squeaky cheese curds.
