So I just got a new iPod Touch today, and one of the first applications I installed was the facebook application.
Problem is, it doesn't work for me.
It installs fine on my touch, then I type in my information, and hit "go". Then it spins... spins... spins... for minutes and minutes and minutes. Nothing.
Using Safari I can log into iphone.facebook.com just fine, but then i switch to the facebook app and I get nothing.
Help?

Try removing the app then reinstalling it. If that fails, power off the iPod touch and then wait about a minute before powering back on and try again.

Apple recommends restarting iPod touches/iPhones after installing apps by holding down the sleep/home button for 10 seconds.

I tried reinstalling and restarting 3 times last evening, no dice.
Though after the second time doing it this morning it worked. So weird.
Thanks.

Odd. I must say that sometimes the iPhone OS works in completely random ways. After a year of use, I still haven't gotten used to it.

I've found that the Facebook/iPhone site is better than the Facebook app. I installed the app but ditched it after a couple uses.

Are you using the brand new one that came out in the last few days? It's much, much better than the web app.

No, I've had it since July.
But I did restore it yesterday so I'm finally able to update apps, and I tried the new Facebook app for the first time - definitely a winner. The ability to view all of someone's pictures, as well and view and make comments on them is a huge improvement. My only complaint is that the application is oriented vertically, and my plus-size thumbs work much better with the horizontal keyboard.
