So I've been burning off a bunch of DVD-Rs and CD-Rs today on my rev-c 12in Powerbook. My drive beeps twice when I put in a blank DVD, and beeps again when I start to burn if (using Toast). Is this normal? I can't say I've ever read about this before. (Maybe terrorists have infiltrated my DVD-R drive, and are planning on attacking my 12in Powerbook. The humanity! I'm quite sure theres a link between the two)

mine was beeping occasionally for a couple of weeks before it died.

The drive mechanism eventually failed and a CD got stuck in it and wouldn't come out. (AppleCare replaced it, but the new one is flaky, too.)

Perhaps you should take it in?

Well thats good to know. I'll call somewhere and ask if they'll replace it, though I've found that most store in my area won't fix anything unless it fails. No preemptive stuff.
