Apple TV now or wait? I would like to have the Apple TV, but if something awesome is just around the bend I can wait. I know that no one knows for sure. I just hate to buy a product only to be disappointed 1 or 2 months later.

If Apple TV is updated, what is the likelyhood that the current ATV will get a software upgrade?

Hard to say. That said, I really like my AppleTV as it is!

I'd buy it now. With the next-to-no-love the AppleTV gets from Apple, it wouldn't surprise me if the next change for the AppleTV is removal from the Apple product line.

That said, I'm with tooki; I'm quite happy with my AppleTV, more-so now with Boxee installed.

I'm happy with my ATV since I installed SSH, Perian, and ATVFiles.

I'd get one now and enjoy it.

I started using boxee on my Macbook Pro a couple days ago and really like it.

Can I use boxee on a ATV without hacking it? And if I do hack it, can I still use it like an Apple TV's current set up?

thanks

Instead, get an Mvix 780HD. I have the 760HD (DVI instead of HDMI and PATA instead of SATA). It's way better than the AppleTV IMO. The UI isn't as sexy, but it can read pretty much any file format out there, has NDAS support, a much more full-featured remote, and it's pretty much awesome.
Sell or send me your vintage Mac things if you don't want them.

Apple TV is over rated, I'd wait for a newer one.
