I just got my first powerbook a few weeks ago and I love it... a 15incher that is amazing.... but I just got a 17in on as a gift from my grandmother. I was wondering how I could go about selling my powerbook and how I would get the most money out of it. I can't return it, my father bought it with his credit card.

Do it e-bay. Seriously, macs hold their value well and you should be able to sell on ebay for almost what you paid. Other than that, try craigslist.

u can always try your local craigslist.org, a way to sell it directly without having to ship it...

Be careful on eBay. it seems to me that the scam level on PowerBooks is pretty high. But still there lies your best shot.

eBay is great, just make sure to be thorough and post lots of real pictures of the actual product.

As well, Craigslist is awesome! I sold my first PowerBook on eBay and my second one on Craigslist. I much preferred the CL way, it was such a great experience.

I'd recommend Craigslist—then no shipping, no fuss. I've also actually become friends with a few people I've met selling Macs to. it's nice that way.

I second Craig's List. I got 1.3k for my Rev A 12" Powerbook a few months ago which was a nice down payment on my new 15".

Sigh. I'd sure love to get a 17" PowerBook as a gift.

Selling a PB through MacNN marketplace has been slow lately, just look at all the available units. I just sold my 17" AluBook and my girlfriend is selling her 15" 1.5ghz latest model for an awesome price but no luck thus far. Oh well, i'll put it on eBay soon.

When selling on eBay, write your user name on an index card and include it in the picture to verify that the pics are authentic. Just a quick tip. Build as much trust as possible to lure confident bidders.
