Who wants to bet that Fox will air the new season next year and pimp it out like they did with the Family Guy return just so they don't look like the bad guy once again?

Honestly: I really, really love his "Has-Been" album. It's quite excellent, very self-aware, and completely devoid of the unintentional humor that makes his earlier work so great.

Doubtful, as it'll be on Comedy Central.

As much as I prefer the original actors, it's certainly possible (with great effort) to find suitable replacements that sound basically the same.
Not exactly an apples-to-apples example. Mickey never had a weekly prime-time slot.

Ah. I read this and was wondering if Fox or Comedy Central would get first dibs:
As part of the deal, 20th still has an option to license the new episodes' original runs to a broadcast network (such as Fox). If the show does go to broadcast, Comedy Central's license fee will be reduced.

Well that depends on if they want to reduce "Seth MacFarlane Sundays".

So basically FOX can screw CC if the episodes turn out better than they're expecting. Nice.

Any idea of when they're due to be back on? 2010 early or late?

All new Futurama starting on UK Sky 1 August 30th!!

That was quick. Are we getting it before the US? Sky is Murdoch's like Fox.

Maybe they are the "new" ones that are really just the movies split into episodes?

That's what I would assume, in which case you shouldn't be too excited Doc HM.

Nope we had the movies a while back. AND the movies split into episodes. The clips they are showing are all ones I haven't seen before and it's definately billed as Futurama's back - all new episodes. They show the split up movies in heavy rotation, they aren't an event anymore.

Comedy Central is advertising the newest movie, which I haven't seen yet either. My guess is it's the same thing Sky 1 is advertising.

All glory to the hypnotoad.

We shall see, as I said all the movies have been on Sky 1 multiple times as movies and as cut up episodes and I don't recognise any of the clips. Calling the 15th repeats of the movies "all new Futurama" would be stretching the definition of all new IMHO.

Plus the actual animation looks different. Seems a bit quick to actually be new Futurama but we'll see.

Let me put it this way. They just signed the contracts with the voice actors to produce new episodes a month ago, and it takes 9 months to produce an episode start to finish. You're wrong.

I know. It makes no sense to be advertising it as all new, but they are.

Let's see...at 14 posts per day, that's almost exactly one year until we're rid of you forever. Awesome. Finally this board will turn around, all the previous awesome members will come back, and it will be like 2001 again.

Thank GOD...

I've been sitting this thread out. The new voice actors idea wasn't sitting well with me; I've never been fond of any voice actor changes since I was 11 and was irritated when the Genie sounded like Homer Simpson in the sequel to Aladdin.
