Ah. That would make sense. Oddly enough, the 4 banger avenger has more potential. Since it's a neon engine, you can get turbo kits for it, to make way more power than the V6. The v6, nobody made anything for, so unless you do a homebrew turbo system, it's kinda screwed.

Really though, that car SHOULD have been RWD. It looks like it was RWD...

I'm not sure if the first gen Neons are as bad. But it wouldn't matter to me anyways since I think the first gen Neons are about as nice to look at as the Pacer was.
You sound exactly like me Lat. How tall are you? 6 four here.

A good paint job actually costs more like 3-5k, really. The only way you'll get a nice paintjob for $1500ish is if you know people.

Yeah, the tall dude who had the coupe, he unbolted his front seat and rebolted it a few more inches back. It was pretty funny actually.

So probably not worth it on a $600 car, and it definitely won't make it worth $3600.

The horrible thing about being tall is that I can't even fit in my dream car, a Porsche 911. Well, I can, but operating the pedals is very difficult, and I can't even engage the clutch, so I'd have to get an automatic which is dumb. I have a really hard time fitting in my friend's SLK too, which is a pity cause it's very fun in the summer.

My aunt had a 2002 Dakota. Nice truck. She only kept it for a few months since she gets free Dodges and Mitsubishis ( she works as a liason of sorts between the two).

I think so. I have an older one and it was the last year any were made in Japan. The first character of the VIN will tell you what country it was made in.

But I can dig the buy American thing. It's just a car is such a crap purchase. It's the worst investment in the world. Why not at least get something that will last. Honda, Toyota, Hyundai, Subaru, Mazda (the ones made in Japan.)

I agree with you on every point there, except that hyundai is made in korea, not japan. Hyundai's are a whole lot worse than dodges.

Maybe in the past, but new Hyundais spank American brands, and are nipping at the heels of Toyota and Honda.

Yep. Out on the west coast savvy urban buyers are now picking up hyundais like crazy (instead of toyotas or hondas), driving up their resale value like mad.

I'm not selling my truck anytime soon so resale value does not concern me.

How can you beat a 10 year 100,000 mile warranty?

They're dirt cheap too.

You do realize that the warranty is not bumper to bumper??? And MANY cars come with a 10 year 100,000 mile warranty. It is for the powertrain.

Actually the new camry is pretty fast, and isn't bland looking anymore. I'd still never get one though. The v6 version has almost 270hp..... which really, isn't very bland at all. That's only 30 horses shy of 300hp in a family sedan.
