I know lots of you have websites, many linked to their sig. Tell us about your website, why you have it, who's it for, etc.

I would think there'd be some creative sites in here, but I could be wrong...

We'll see.

Thrown together over a long weekend using Mind Jet: My work in progress
I have a lot of ongoing projects-but can`t find the time to incorporate them into the site.

I want it to be a place for other therapists and laypersons to find up to date information on Physical Therapy, Neuroscience, Psychology, .... - and articles describing why that information matters and how it can be used by everyone to improve the quality of life, diminish pain, stay healthy.

The Wonder Llama

Just a place to throw up random videos and jokes and rants and to waste bandwidth.

~BS

[edit: In particular I'd recommend checking out some jokes, Ask Weez... perhaps a funny video (that's Jerry Minor on Bill Maher... he's working blue too)... of course check out the front page for my treatise on pictographical etymology and then jump off to another site from the links page. Or, just meditate over some haikus.

Suggestions/feedback welcome.]

I recently redesigned it with XHTML and CSS. I hadn't touched it for years, and I'm still moving over content from the older version.

I'd say that changing the size on the rollover state of your menu items is a bit of a no no. Makes everything shake back and forth in a rather unconfortable way. Wouldn't the blue dotted line be enough?

If you spaced them farther apart, or put them in their own td's maybe it's work better...

Someday I'm going to have to come up with an actual design for my site. The current one is just your generic text and links...

What's weird is that your blog got me to start up my own. (I didn't know it was the default MT at first.) It just looked very simple, so I thought I could do it myself - and I did!

Yeah, I'm just playing with ideas right now. The enlarge on rollover effect was an attempt to immitate Dock magnification. Ultimately I'll probably have a number of different stylesheets to choose from.

My web site started a few years ago, when I was in my last year of high school and the final project in the computer class was the creation of a multipage website with a few demonstrations of basic HTML know-how. I have since decided to hang onto it, and created a few pages for listing specs on my various Macs, an index of my Smashing Pumpkins MP3 collection... etc. It is my hope that I will actually decide to do something with the site itself someday, perhaps turn it into a Mac hardware site or a Babylon 5 fan/news site, either of which would eventually migrate away from AngelFire to a real domain name and server.

I doubt it will ever happen though since I have been pretty lazy about everything lately.

I'd doubt you could get something as smooth as the dock effect with css. Flash, however, would handle that no problemo. In fact with ActionScript, you could even let the user set the degree of magnification, do all kinds of fun stuff.

It wasn't supposed to be a perfect imitation; it was just sort of inspired by the Dock. I'm not going to get into Flash at all. It's the most misused internet technology there is, especially for navigation.

I have one website and two blogs (one in English, one in Danish).

I know I use tables (and iframes, some would argue) in a bad way on the website, and that it doesn't look and work proper in Opera, and only semi-proper in Safari, but until I get myself together and update the design, that's just too bad

Comments on what's working and not working on various Mac browsers appreciated, since I still can't check on a Mac myself (especially interested in knowing if the "info" thing under l&t works).

That's just me messing around in Flash, the most misused and overhyped technology around as many have said. I have had many a simple site myself, but I'm currently working on a couple other peoples' sites as well an acceptable version of my own.

Here's mine, a project for a website design class I took last semester.

Unfortunately, I ran out of space during the uploading process, so it's only about halfway complete, and likely to stay that way. :-\

I'm not really happy with it, it's going to be completely redone over the summer. Including the crappy-ass pictures on the front.
