Being unable to install the first update because it fails towards the end Adobe have now released 6.0.2. Of course it needs 6.0.1 to install.

I know I'm not the only one who cannot apply these updates (even tried all suggested work arounds ie: adjusting time zones, changing flags, reinstalling etc) Adobe's solution is two fold; either it is an illegal copy (which it is not) or it's Apple's fault.

Has anyone been able to successfully install these updates? How?

Yeah, same problem here. We have a liegit copy at work. I think its Panther that's preventing the update. At least Adobe's forums provide a solution for adding the PDF printer under Panther, otherwise it would be useless!

Even if that is so I think it is Adobe's responsibility to make their software work, not Apple.
Considering how much CS costs the level of support and compatibility issues are hopeless.

The only thing that keeps Mac users faithful to Adobe in this case is PS and Acrobat IMHO. Well Apple have started with Preview and iPhoto let's hope they get wise and take their software development further.

It's kinda ironic though, as Mac users we have come to expect (and get from Apple at least) a high end, professional product. Companies like Adobe, Norton, etc who are selling themselves out to the cheap and easy money making market of peecee's are steadily compromising quality for the end profit.

I upgraded to 6.0.1 and then 6.0.2 on two Panther machines. Both updates were without problems. Are you doing the update from an admin account?

Also, I think I had to download the 6.0.1 update from Adobe's website. But then I ran the 6.0.2 updater from within Acrobat.

No trouble updating Acrobat 6 Professional from 6.0 to 6.01, then to 6.02 on Panther here, either. Both done with the downloadable updates from Adobe.com.
