CDrom is acting up.

when I launch the macworld cd it freezes the machine... This happens whether I use the internal cdrom or my burner as the cdrom so I assume It is a software conflict or something.

What should I do?

I have tried disabling different extensions such as Echo sound card and various shareware control panel stuff. I never noticed this problem before. I have a mac 7500 with a powerforce g3/350 upgrade card. I have 64 mb of ram and I am running 8.6. When I launch the macworld tour it freezes and I have to restart. The macaddict cdrom starts up but cannot install software...such as ie5..
I guess the next step is a clean install of the system.
