Have been thinking...
When i bought my iMac G5 in december last year it came with iLife pre-installed... however there is no installation cd's.
When i install tiger on (clean install), how will i get iLife 04 back on, if i dont have a cd/dvd for it??
Your help is appreciated.
Cheers
Daz

A clean install is overkill. I would do a regular update or an archive & install with importing the user folders at most.
Anyway, the iLife that came with your computer is on the software restore DVD. There should be an installation package "Additional/Bundled Software" or something like that.

Clean install = Fresh start... nothing old on there anymore... will get rid of crap that may have got anywhere ..... was tempted by Achive and Install but dunno - still 4days to decide
Yeah i have system restore dvd 1 and dvd 2 and have noticed there is additional/bundled software on dvd 1...
So install tiger - then get out the panther dvd and find the package on it and it should install...
- What happens if it doesnt??
- Will apple sort it out for me, ie get me a iLife 04 dvd shipped to me to install from or do i just not have iLife 04 anymore??
Cant be without my iLife :o
Thanks for the advice.

It does. Just make sure to click the "Customize" button in the Installer. Not that it also installs Internet Explorer or other software you don't want.

So...
- Install Tiger
- Get Panther DVD
- Click "Additional/Bundled Software"
- Choose customise and select iLife
- Click next and away it goes...

Yes that does work, if you have the two disc DVD install/restore disc set that I know of. I've done it myself and know it works.
There should be an installer package called "Install Bundled software" in the same folder as "Install Mac OS X" on the first disc. That's the one you want.
