[Rumor]

Twice was while the screen saver was on, the first was while I was being productive *cough cough*. Below is the error codes.

Memory leak? If so, how can I fix it?

You (the user) can not fix memory leaks. The developer has to do that. It's a kind of bug in the program source code. Usually by not freeing up a variable space after it is no longer needed.

The most you can do is complain to the developer, and attach your crash log.

Are you saying this actually forced a panic and reboot? Kernel panics are rare today, indicating a core OS bug or (more usually) a hardware issue. A buggy screen saver should only crash itself, and perhaps force a reboot of the windowserver. Which would force-quit all your running programs. But the OS should still be up.

Kernel panic and reboot. The crash log is above but I'm not sure what the problem is. I had an external plugged in which I unplugged after the third crash. Haven't had a chance to check if it has crashed since as I have been running errands.

I think the problem is those Seagate drivers (kexts). You don't need them - I'm assuming this is a locally attached Mac-formatted disk. Try getting rid of the and after a re-boot, attach the drive and see what happens. Shouldn't be too much smoke!!

Good eyes there, I did not spot the Seagate kexts in the backtrace. A quick google shows those kexts in several crash reports around the web, which implies that something is going on. And does the 10_5 in com.seagate.driver.PowSecLeafDriver_10_5 refer to 10.5? Because that was a while ago.

I don't think I formatted the drive after upgrading the OS. It seems to flip out when I put my MBP to sleep and neglect to eject the drive.

I've had the same problem with some other USB peripherals I've tested. Generally, it's just affected peripheral functionality, but I can see where it would cause a crash if bad.

OK, but did you install something from Seagate initially? Can you uninstall that?

It mentions the standard storage, USB and I/O kexts near the top of the backtrace with the Seagate. It could be there is a fault with the disk or more likely the enclosure but try it without the Seagate kexts first.

I've had a similar issue with an external Seagate drive. MacBook Pro would lock up as soon as I connected it. Disabled one of the seagate LaunchDaemon or LaunchAgent (can't remember which...) and the drive has been working fine ever since.
