I recently flew on an airplane with my ipod and i'm pretty sure it was damaged on the flight and now has hardware issues. Its got the sad-faced ipod picture when i turn it on, and i can't force it into disk mode.

From what I hear, Apple repair costs (and really any technology company's repair costs) are exorbitant. Am I better off just buying a new Ipod (the one I have new is a black and white click wheel), or should I try and get it fixed?

Update: After confirming that my ipod was in fact broken, and that it was a hardware issue, I thought to myself "Well, nothing else has worked, why not?" and hit my ipod on the desk a few times.

Then it restored itself and is now working fine...

Here's hoping it lasts.
