I love the new columns view, but I don't know of any way to set it to global, so everytime the thing goes to sleep or I reboot it goes back to icon view :-(

In 10.2 you can set columns as default in the Finder preferences. It's very nice.

1) Close all open finder windows
2) Choose column view and resize/reposition as necessary
3) Close window
4) You're done.

Probably not really related but this bugs the hell out of me. In 10.2 with spring loaded folders, when I place the file onto a folder and it springs open, it usually opens up a new window in icon view even though I'm already using column view. I've set the finder to open new windows in column view but that doesn't seem to matter. I'm not sure if this is a bug or a feature.

Torifile,
That doesn't seem to work for me after I reboot or log-out and back in. I guess I'll just have to wait until my 10.2 CDs ships & gets here. Thanks all!
