i have the wiebetech ext. hdd enclosure that i attach to my mbp with FW800. recently, i tried connecting that while i had a video camera attached to mbp via FW 400 and the hdd disks would not mount until i disconnected the FW400 cable. is this supposed to happen? if so, then i guess i can't use the ext. hdd as a scratch drive for FCE?

Once you have mounted the hd, can you then reconnect the vidcam?
