I bought Pro last May. I now notice after upgrading to Tiger that I'm back to QuickTime. When I type in registration number it says its not valid. Do I now have to purchase another upgrade?
Thanks,
Bob

It seems odd (i.e., unfair) that one isn't given a clear choice of whether to essentially downgrade to a newer version of quicktime or keep the older version of Pro when installing Tiger.

Since QuickTime Pro really affects the player and plugin rather than the framework, I think you could just use your old authorized version.
And yes, it is odd. The whole way QuickTime Pro is done has driven me crazy ever since they came up with it.

Isn't QT a pretty major part of the Mac OS?

Does anyone know what happens if you buy QuickTime 6.5 Pro for Windows (which is still the latest version on that platform) now? Will those serial numbers work with QuickTime 7 Pro, too?

No, they won't work.

According to the Apple site, QT7 for Windows is coming soon.

You should be able to use the QuickTime 6 Player with Tiger and it should work with your Pro6 number.
