Just installed the new player. Put in a DVD, but it didn't appear on the desktop (or launch DVD player). I launched the DVD player, and poof -it played the DVD just fine...

Anybody else getting this slightly strange behavior?

Check your Finder Preferences to see if somehow the "Show removable Media" button has been disabled.

Nope. That was the first thing I checked. (And double checked by selecting and de-selecting all the options to make sure they were working) The DVD doesn't show up in finder windows though either.

might want to open up the terminal and type
cd /Volumes/

And see if it shows up there.

Yep, it appeared there, just thought it was bizarre that it didn't show up anywhere else.

Oh well -not really a problem...
