New OSX disks no longer include OS9. When I upgraded to Panther, my classic environment stopped working. Now I notice that Apple is selling a special OS9 upgrade for Panther owners. Could it be that this is all related? Is there a new verson of OS9 that is required if OS10.3 is running? Or is there some other reason my classic environment stopped working? I will probably just get a used iBook that has nothing but OS9 and delete the OS9/Classic from my OSX machine...

Apple recommends 9.2.2, but says anything from 9.1 onwards will work.

I am aware of what Apple says, usually , but since the Classic environment stopped working after I installed Panther, and Apple started selling their OS9-for-Panther-users disk, I wondered if anyone here knows if it has special modifications and is worth purchasing, or if it's the same thing as on the installation disks that came with earlier versions of OSX.
