Might be worth a shot...
One of my friends works for the company that has been working on Flock, a social networking browser. It has integrated blogging, flickr, del.icio.us links, rss feeds, the works... very cool, and based on the Mozilla Firefox engine. The developer preview just came out, so give it a whirl!

I was expecting a lot more from it. Seems like safari with a couple extra tricks, nothing groundbreaking.

Ok, in the name of all that is holy. I looked at it again and I just had to go to their feedback page.
The whole entire thing is like a bad dream.

Someone needs to find where these guys live and ship them to a deserted island. They are THAT PROUD of this pile that they are putting their facces on the website.
I think I'm going to have an anuerism...

Really guys, it doesn't look any worse than normal Firefox on OS X.
Flock is an ambitious attempt to do something new with the web browser by integrating with the various web services that are changing how people use their computers. I give them kudos for trying that. Maybe it'll even pull more people away from IE. That would be good news to me as a web developer.

Actually, I don't mind the look at all. And there are some interesting concepts being explored here. I think the thing has some serious potential ... it will be quite interesting to watch this program evolve.

I was looking forward to the concept of Flock, but having tried the developer preview I wasn't that impressed. I'm a del.icio.us user, and liked the idea of bookmark sharing integrated into Flock, but honestly Cocoalicious + Firefox (or Safari) was streets ahead in usability. But still, it is a preview, and I'm sure there are some improvements and refinements to be made yet.

does it have a minimum os requirement, tried it on 10.3.2 and just crashes on startup. The 'cute' style they went for the page seems to be devoid of any system requirements at all and the forum never emailed me my password.

It has a nice icon, I'll give it that. Don't really need any of the social internet stuff, so don't really need it. I'd just like a browser that has that cool save page feature from the old Internet Explorer 5 (Mac version), scrapbook they called it I think.

Or Microsoft Office 2001. Looks like they copied and mirrored part of it.

With an appropriate theme it looks much better (I like these personally). Most of the stuff Flock offers can be achieved through FF extensions anyway ... and with apps like iClip, Quicksilver's shelf and Cocoalicious on the mac the appeal of flock is limited. Maybe better for windows or linux users?
