Sounds promising. Lets hope it fits the hype.
I LOVE Safari, but would ditch it in a second if something better came out.

Basically it is, uh, well, it has multiple dynamic service interfaces including the ability to integrate RSS and delicious data streams as well as coordinate you in real time with your subscriptions and access privileges. On top of that it can sync your space sprockets and coagulate your dot-com.

The wired article explains it, a "social browser", features for blogging and bookmark sharing etc. IMHO it's probably unnecessary and it appears to be diverting resources/visionaries from the Firefox team....I haven't seen the product of their new work yet, so all I can say is either negitive or hype. Personally, I'd prefer the improvement of the extremely imperfect browsers available now, or a much better replacement for them....specializing browsers for certain uses of the web, I don't like the idea but maybe it'll work better than I imagine.

I don't care what the gimmicks or features are, the more people that use standards compliant browsers, the better for everyone.

Two-way internet browsing... so if I'm looking at a page, they are looking at me? Weird.
Or,
"We will never spam you"
No, they'll just use their two-way technology and spam others in your name maybe?
Horrible looking site, and they just insured I'll never use it.

And I like the site design too.

Well, their announcment sounds like vaporware. I'm sure they didn't intend that, but that's how it sounds. And they are not really going out of their way to give facts.

I like it. It has tons of functionality if you're into blogging, social bookmarking, flickr and all the rest of it. ICab? Not so much.
Oh, and it's snappy™

I like it too. It seems to have most of the benefits of Firefox (it's built off of the Firefox code), with some really neat extra functionality. I love the idea of the del.icio.us integration. The current way that browsers do bookmarks just doesn't work.
Sadly, Flock is definitely still pre-beta. I'm getting hit with bugs left and right.

Flock is all hype. Face it, Flock has the feeling of a RealBasic app crapped out one afternoon. It's very buzzword compliant though. WHOA MAN! delicious! firefox! flickr! blogs! open source! Dude how can it not be cool!?!?!? Flock is a piece of crap. At least it's appropriately named. The only people that are going to fall for this crap are the masses who act like flocks of sheep.
Baaaaah, baaaaah.
Follow me! Follow me! Send money!! Baaah!
Case of point, the about Flock page is just a bunch of pictures of the people who made it. It could be a new wallpaper or something else and people would still think this is cool.
This is all about the cool club, buzzwords, people making money off the Flock, and people peddling bullcrap.

You have obviously no idea what Flock is all about.
1. Fock is free, so nobody is asking you for money.
2. Flock is Firefox with extensions build into the code base. This means that it's basic functionality as a browser is identical to Firefox. It certaily isn't a 'real basic etc'
3. Flock is not for everyone. If you're not into social browsing in all it's manifestations then Firefox or Safari is the far better choice for you.
4. It's not a piece of crap, it's Firefox with added functionality.
5. Reading and comprehending before posting is generally deemed to be a good idea. At least if you don't want to come across sounding like an idiot.
