Thursday 10th May 01:30 am UK time !

( around 2 minutes to download and 10 minutes to install )

Notified via my Apple Support RSS feed.

Different computers will show different download sizes, as always

Apple - Support - Downloads

About the OS X Lion v10.7.4 Update

About the security content of OS X Lion v10.7.4 and Security Update 2012-002

About the security content of Safari 5.1.7

About Safari 5.1.7

I also downloaded the stand alone updates, as backup....

Time Machine backup after update installed and the extra 2 software downloads, as above
4.41gb = an extra 1.94gb disk space used after installation.

The backup took 9 minutes to complete via USB2 external HDD.
(I've noticed previous posts about slow backups to Time Machine)

I kicked mine off at home last night and it said 2 hours so I stopped it. Just kicked it off again at work, 11 minutes. Thats more like it.
I have plenty of more important things to do, if only I could bring myself to do them....

I have to watch the clock.

Between 6pm and midnight, my Unlimited BB is capped at 2mb/s, from it's usual 17mb/s.

I notice when a download is measured in hours, not minutes, so delay d/l until after midnight.

Software updates and BBC iPlayer (300mbs SD- 1.4gb HD)

They came out at the same time.

Not sure if the images really added to the content, but a detailed account of your update process is missing salient facts: What were you wearing, did you have beverages on hand, bathroom visits etc.

We need to know.

They may have come out at the same time .

At a later time in the day.....

In practise they didn't, at 01:30am, as per the grabs !

And .... as you well know, after downloading a software update, a recheck is performed checking to see if all software is up to date.

Which it was.

At 01:30am !

The 10.7.4 update seems to have resolved a conflict I was having with Camino 2.1.2 and Javascript, where some web pages would load, then instantly go to a blank white screen, which I initially resolved by reverting to Camino 2.1.1, otherwise it was a case of me disabling Javascript when this happened in Camino 2.1.2

I'm back on Camino 2.1.2. as my default browser again now.

Safari 5.1.7 is my backup browser for when some pages just don't work properly, such as form filling occasionally.

It looks like this time they actually DID remove the debug code!

(The Filevault issue, of course).
The new Mac Pro has up to 30 MB of cache inside the processor itself. That's more than the HD in my first Mac. Somehow I'm still running out of space.

No problems updating to 10.7.4 for me.

Except of course Apple still didn't bother to fix any of the 12 or so annoying Preview bugs.

What's with all the 403 Forbidden image error messages in the thread?

He posted screenshots of his bandwidth measurements, and of all windows and progress bars, and the "About this Mac" window, etc.

The thread is not lacking for their bandwidth excession.

An actual changelog from the Apple page and a link to the combo updater would have had more value.

They finally fixed the window assignment bug in Spaces.

My audio interface console now opens into the right space.

I reached my limit of 500 images in Imageshack, so block deleted the lot.

403's removed.

As a Media Professional, my background is in Images !

A picture is worth .............

499 to go !
