Let me guess... the script is to run some Java app. Right?

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!

Yep, Java. My suggestion would be to read one of the many already existing threads that have been posted on the topic (for whatever reason).

Why does it always seem like it's a matter of life and death to get this answered immediately with all of these java .bat threads?

Just being about as helpful as anybody could given the lack of information you've provided. Why not share the instructions you already have, give us a good idea as to what you are doing, explain what was confusing in the other threads, ask us specific questions - something?? Nobody is going to guess at your problem with your cryptic description and take the time to guess at a step-by-step set of instructions like you requested that was not already posted to the 4+ other threads very similar to this one. Cryptic problems with cryptic goals and cryptic descriptions will get you cryptic answers, at best.

Ok, I saw the first thread charless provided me. That person had some data from the textedit which would help to run the .bat. How do I obtain that?

No, I'm not going to look for some text in another thread because you can't be bothered to post it here and provide a clear description of what you are trying to do. I would suggest putting in a little legwork and showing a little initiative before asking people to do things, as I frankly have absolutely no inspiration to help you at this point, especially given how cryptic this is.

What do the instructions for your game say to do? I'm not downloading and executing some file hosted on some random person's Mediafire account, sorry.

These Java apps look like they belong to some game. 4 threads and I had to Google that for myself because these thread creators seem unable to provide us with these basic details, truly bizarre.

I've kind of wondered that myself sometimes. Each time, the OP has a strikingly similar writing and posting style to the last time, it's always extremely cryptic, the author always refers to the problem as "running a .bat file" even though what he's really trying to do is run a Java app, and he's always extremely impatient. The other thing is that there have been a lot more than just those four threads - I didn't post every one that came up in the search.

Of course, if it's indeed a game, we could just be dealing with 12-year-old gamers, which could explain some of those features.

It has no instructions. On a pc, you simply just extract the info, then run it. But with the mac, I dont know what to do.

You could start by reading the advice given by the experts in here. They need more specifics which you are unwilling to provide (thus the space ship reference).

I think people would be more than willing to help you but only if you offer a complete and detailed description of what you need so they can exert their time and energy towards solving your problem (and not waste it).

What is the name and extension of the main executable? What was the name and extension of that file you opened in TextEdit and pasted here? How does this relate to a .bat file? Have you tried running the Java applet through your Terminal, as I'm sure was discussed in the other threads? Do you have any questions about the solutions offered in the other threads?

Need more info, still. Your problem would be solved much faster if you'd get busy writing and explaining so that we don't have to coax this information out of you.

.bat scripts can not be run on Macs.

Java-programs can be in principle, but one might be limited to a single platform only.

Whether this Java-program runs on Mac, and if so how it is run, you should best ask the maker of that program.

Extract the files from the RAR archive using a program on the Mac that handles the RAR format (there are several to choose from, Google this), then cd into the *directory* of the app:

cd /Users/matt/Downloads/<foldername>

substitute the name of this folder for "<foldername>" and respect the space after the cd command. Then you can run the Java executable using the Java command given prior.
