when I drag songs from my library and put songs into multipy playlists, does that copy the song to the iPod again?

Say I use HEY YA in 10 playlists, do I have 10 versions of HEY YA on my ipod or just one like I think?

My friend was doing it and claimed that every time they did that it was copying the song, again and again.

I realize how little I know about how to use the Ipod. I just add my CD's to it and that's it.

I don't use anything else with it.

I should learn more.

It's essentially a shortcut to the file's location on your hard drive. The playlist itself may take up extra space on your hard drive (not a whole lot - kind of like a text file), but the actual song file is only there once.
