Once again glad I own a Mac!

There is a new worm spreading around the world affecting XP and 2000 machines. It's called Sasser and more info can be found about it here.

The virus is not spreading so far at the moment possibly due to the bank holiday in places like the UK and Australia. However, parts of Europe are being affected already.

While it can't attack Macs you might want to keep an eye out for traffic on TCP ports 445, 5554 and 9996.

Not sure what the best way to do this is. The Mac OS built in firewall doesn't seem to have an easily accessible log. Anyone???

Cheers,

Jordan

Apparently there is a variant D for Sasser which affects Windows 95 on up.

There's already a thread on this in the lounge, and this isn't an OS X topic anyway.
