Tiger will bring about some great .Mac synching features that I have been hanging out for. I have a Powerbook and a G4 desktop that I use so can't wait for the mail synching. My partner also uses the G4.

I have .Mac so will straight away be able to take advantage of all the new synching stuff but she doesn't.

The question is: Do I have to buy another .Mac for her or can I just get another email address on the same .Mac for us both to use the synching features.

She won't need the homepage or many of the other .Mac features.

Does Apple expect us to buy a .Mac subscriptions for every single member of the same house? Are there any Family discounts like with Tiger itself?

Appreciate any advice here.

You can buy an extra email address (easier for two people than using an alias) for a low price. You'd be the admin so you'd need to keep .mac for both accounts. Other than that, it works just fine. I do that with my s/o so she can have her own email and sync it via her profile and at work as well.
