Someone sent me a picture in ART format. From research I've gathered that this is a stupid kind of AOL compression format. I eventually managed to open it with Internet Explorer in VirtualPC (lucky I keep that around!) but I want to know if there are any Mac apps that can open this format. GraphicConverter recognizes it but refuses to open it because it's a "proprietary format of AOL."

.art has actually been used by a couple programs, AOL being one of them. Xnview can open some of the .art files.
