Hi all,

Recently, I've been working across the CS Suite and quite a bit in Flash and I've been noticing a lag in performance. Actually, the slow down seems to have come after my recent upgrade to Tiger and the slowdown isn't just with graphic programs but anytime multiple apps are operating. Very noticible with graphic apps though!!
Is Tiger a RAM hog?

So, I'm thinking more RAM would help and speed things up but I'd like some feedback.

I have a Dual 1.8 with 2 GB of RAM on 4 512MB slots. I've got 4 more available slots.
First, I've read in the forums that a noticeable difference won't really be felt unless the jump is made from 2GB to 4GB. In other words, adding another 1GB to my 2 won't do much. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Also, should I spend the money to add 2GB of RAM? I won't be buying another machine for a while but it seems each new update in any graphic suite needs more and more RAM.

Lastly, since I have 4 512MB cards in their now, am I limited to adding RAM in 512 chunks or can I add 2 1GB cards in there?

Thanks for any advice!
