How about a "Sold" sub-section in the Marketplace?

A sub-section of the Marketplace for sold items or those no longer for sale might be helpful and reduce the clutter of items that have been sold but not marked as such. Something along the lines of the Political/War area of the Lounge. Wanna shop? Go to the Marketplace. Wanna see what has sold and for how much? Go to the "Sold" area.

I think this would give people even less reason to go back to their threads to mark them as sold. It would therefor give the moderators more work, but I do like the idea. As it is, even when people mark their item as sold its brought to the top just to tease me again. What do other people think?

People could just edit the original post and add "Sold" to the contents -- edits don't bring a thread to the top. (They should not, however, delete the original contents of the post.)
A subforum's not gonna happen, cuz it's just too much work for us to move threads (it's time-consuming, especially if the forums are busy).

Why can't you just unblock the ability for the thread creator to edit the title or lock it in just that forum.

Based on how some people edit their posts, there's too much potential for abuse. (I'm not even sure that the software lets us say that just the thread creator can edit the title. I think it's all-or-nothing, and we can't give people "all".)
We're not gonna be relaxing users' abilities. Sorry.
