According to a Slashdot story, prostitues have their panties in a bunch over the treatment of their ilk in the game. They fear it may be a bad lesson for kids, seeing ho's raped and beaten. Being a prostitute does not make someone a bad person.

That said, complaining about your profession's portrayal in a video game, even a popular one, is annoying and probably not going to accomplish jack.

Also, their argument is silly because it's not as if the game generally rewards you for having your character do valiant acts and includes beating up prostitutes among said acts. In the game, you play someone who does well by doing not-good. So the game in general has no pretense of being a good lesson.

If they're saying that it equates even patronizing prostitutes with doing bad, that's also misguided. Being a prostitute doesn't make you a bad person, but that fact doesn't mean that your clients are angels, either.
