Logitech DiNovo Media Desktop

Hey, I'm wanting one of these, though it will cost me a kidney. Bluetooth everything.

Anyone have one? Is it worth it? Does it play nicely with the Mac?

Here's the best price:

Thanks...

None of the DiNovo features (such as the media player LCD display, transport controls, etc) are supported on the Mac - there are no drivers, nor have any been announced.
While it'll work as a basic keyboard, its quite expensive if that's all you're going to get out of it.

you're too squarish! ...just kidding, i can see why you'd say that.

this is what i got fro Logitech support.

"Thank you for contacting Logitech's Electronic Customer Support.

Logitech generally tries to provide software support for popular OS, although, Logitech Bluetooth devices do not currently support the OS that you have mentioned. Please visit our web site in the future for updated software that may include support for your OS. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause to you.

If you have any additional questions regarding your product, please feel free to visit our website at www.logitech.com. Thank you for your interest in Logitech."

i guess i can buy it and see if it satisfies, and if not, just return it.

for $200, it's not that much more than an apple BT keyboard and the Logitech MX900 (included in this set). that would run you $70 + $90 = $160.

and one of the key features here for me is the bluetooth number pad, the only of its kind.

i would rather pay $100 for this, but logitech runs high.

I've always wondered why keyboards these days come with soooo many buttons at the top, left, right and everywhere - I'm talking about most Windows keyboards (Logitech, Microsoft, etc) in general.

That's why I went ahead and bought the Apple Wireless Keyboard the other day. Small footprint.

Buy whatever that suits you.

But for me, I try to balance looks with practicality, and for that matter, the Logitech DiNovo doesn't score in my books.

Cheers.

Agreed. I find the Apple Wireless Keyboard to be an excellent device. Not too big to drop on my lap and tap away.

And if it matters to anyone, I find the key action on it notably better than the key action on the keyboard that came with my G5.

thanks for letting me know. i am using a tired apple pro keyboard that came with an imac 2 years ago, and i was hoping the new keyboards were beter and quieter.

the dinovo desktop will be very small when you put just the keyboard on your lap! i think i will get it in a month, and i'll post a little review of it then. for now, thanks for all your input folks.

yes, i'd be using built-in bluetooth on a 17" Al Powerbook.

it'd be kinda cool to learn to enter numbers with the left hand and keep the number pad on the left of the powerbook, and the mouse on the right.

Seriously.. the keyboard is the best thing i've used... ultra flat, high-end laptop feel. except that the mediapad doesn't work at all... so i guess it's a no go for mac users... kindda disappointing for such high price...

do you mean it doesn't work even as a number pad?

if that's the case, screw it.

i'll probably end up getting a usb number pad and a bt mouse.

yeah, that's why i'm going to wait a couple months. there's got to be something good for the mac coming to bluetooth soon.

kensington is due. macally is due (non-jr version please).

i'm also going to wait because i'm poor right now.

the upcoming bluetooth frogpad for mac is interesting too. could be much much more than a number pad.

Do a search here. There's a way. GamePad Overdrive or something similar (not USB Overdrive).
