G'day everyone.

I'm new here and just had a question that Iwas hoping somebody could help me out with.

I'm planning on buying a Macbook Pro very soon and am just unsure as to what size I should get, the 15 or 17.

Anyway, I saw this video and was hoping somebody would be able to tell me what size this one is.

YouTube - John Mayer on Oprah, Pt. 1, The Performance

Thanks in advance!!

Brad

I think it would be a good idea to go to an Apple store and just look for yourself. If there isn't one nearby, then go to a Best Buy or something and find a 17" and 15" laptop. Imagine that, but one inch think.

Hmm, thanks. I will do that but I was just hoping someone could tell me anyway. I like to see the computers out in real life and not in shops that's all.

I was hot for the 17" until I went to the Apple store. It was too big, and I couldn't imagine carrying it around. 15" is just big enough.

But if I were going to be using it in a single location, then I'd probably go for the 17".

Ok, thanks heaps everyone!!

I'm thinking about where i'll use it and I can't see myself carrying it round all that much so the 17" might be the go. I'll use it at home and uni and that's prolly it.

Lots of people are thinking that that's the 17" in the video though. Who knows.

Thanks again.

15 and an external monitor = best of both worlds.

I have this bag from waterfield that weighs as heavy as the 15" mbp, I think that is the heaviest weight I can have on my gear. I love the big screen, but the weight is a big concern for me.
we are all part of a masterplan.

I've owned both and they are both excellent machines. Personally, I prefer the 15" but it's all a matter of personal choice.

Definitely go for the 17" mate, if you're going to watch DVDs or use apps like Photoshop you'll appreciate the space

The 17" is incomparable. It's like having a full sized computer that is portable.

I would get the 15". The 17" really has limited portability. If you're not going to be leaving the desk that often though, I would get 17".

I love my 17" MBP. Not at all hard to carry around in my laptop bag.

Haha, wow, lots of different opinions. I really appreciate it!!

I think i'll go for the 17". I can't see it being too much of a burden for me as I wont need to move it much and also, I study film at uni so i'm thinking that the bigger screen is defintely the way to go.

Getting an external monitor and the 15" isn't a bad idea either! Ahwell lots of things to consider but again, thanks heaps.
