At school i connect to a personal drive on a server. I can connect to the server using smb but it wont show my drive because i dont have permissions to view the whole folder. i can only view my personal folder. is there anyway to get around this?

Probably not. Permissions are set for a reason-in a school environment it's most likely to keep YOUR stuff from being hosed by other people. And vice-versa, of course, but you would NEVER think of messing with, or even viewing other people's stuff, right?

Seriously, if it's a permissions issue, you CANNOT see the whole drive. Talk to the administrator if you need to see the rest of the drive and make your case. Maybe they'll give you more access.
