i have an old flat screen PPC iMac that i suspect the battery failed and has been replaced, but will not boot, prior to this it had a kernel panic and now its not chirping, the fan doesnt spin or anything when booted up ( or power button pressed as to be fair its dead) i've pressed the PMU and still nothing
is there anything else i've overlooked? or is there another FAQ for checking the rest of this unit ? ie powersupply?
all help appreciated as shame to bin a perfectly good iMac and get an intel one....

Power supply seems to have failed. Pull Theron's lead out. Slowly reinsert it. If you hear a grounding click the power supply is still alive. No click, dead power supply.

I have a G4 iMac that won't boot either, mostly. The power supply gives off a steady, quiet ticking when it won't boot.
Occasionally, when I haven't hooked it up to power for a while, it will boot normally.
