Hi everyone,

My computer at work recently started showing weird fonts from emails and I'm not sure how it came about. Could I have installed some weird fonts that caused the default fonts to act funny?

Attached is the screen shot of an example.

Thanks.

I had the same, really annoying problem in my first install of Leopard.
For some obscure reason, certain application were really keen to exchange some normal default font like Helvetica with "Plantagenet Cherokee".

Maybe deleting this font, for which I have a hard time seeing any use anyway, might solve your problem.

I re-installed Leopard in the end, BTW, and since then everything is smooth.

Try clearing you Font caches and see if that helps.

This PDF from Extensis has some useful tips http://dl.extensis.com/downloads/SC/...ces_in_OSX.pdf

You can also use a third party program to zap the caches - i use FontNuke 1.1.4 - MacUpdate

Or a Safe Boot startup clears the caches in Tiger - not sure if this works in Leopard - What is Safe Boot, Safe Mode? (Mac OS X)
