I would like to see what you came up with in your attempt to turn crap into gold. Did you come close? What techniques did you try?

Would you like to buy some of my stool samples? You might fare better with them in trying to turn them into gold, because they are in high demand in the scientific community.

Nope, not a nerd.
I have geekish qualities, but I am very social, have lots of friends, and do lots of activities. Nerds play dungeons and dragons, lack friends, have low self esteem, play world of warcraft, etc.

Wait...so the nerds play D&D alone? D&D and Warcraft aren't "activities"? And not remotely "social" activities?

I don't agree with the classification of anybody in some category like this, but it is especially ridiculous when the categories are specifically defined so that YOU are not in them. That's just hilarious.

They play D&D only with other nerds. That's it. And world of warcraft, from everything I've read about it, is actually like 'negative' social, since it ruins people's lives and makes them spend hundreds of hours on their computer ignoring real life people.

I like fast cars. I like modifying cars. I like making cars go faster. Is that 'nerdy'? Not really. The same 'ideas' and 'principles' are what I applied to computers. Do I program? Do I write HTML? Do I know any code? No. I am not a nerd. I am somewhat of a performance freak, wanting to tweak my car to perfection, tweak my quadraphonic over the top 1970s technics system to perfection, and I tried the same thing with my old powermac, and the iMac before that. Just because somebody likes SPEED doesn't make them a nerd.

PS: I'm not naming categories specifically because they DON'T include me. Those were always categories and classifications that I and all my friends looked down upon, as total nerds. I do not fit into those categories because I do not like them, not the other way around.

And since nerds don't qualify as people, it can't qualify as a social activity. I guess that's logical.

You're right. "cool" people do it with booze and drugs. Much more 'positive.' And 'classy.' The symbolism you carry around in your head is fascinating.

I hate to tell you this, but you and your groupies in Michigan aren't exactly defining social status for the 21st century. You are now connected to the real world (Heaven help us) and so far you're being outvoted. Maybe you could get one of your friends to publicly declare what a nerd you are not. That might help sway the other 49 states.
Do you want forgiveness or respect?
