Looks like Apple is finally managing to get a product to people when it's supposed to be there.
Dear Apple Customer,
The following products shipped on 11/08/2001. Transit time will
depend upon whether you have chosen standard or premium freight
options. If your order is shipping standard freight, it should arrive
within 10 days of shipment.

After giving in and ordering one, I waited for it ship... Day after day, after day. It shipped today and I called Apple. Apple rep tells me the bad news, "Fed Ex 2 Day or Ground and UPS ground doesn't deliver on Saturdays". Monday for me it is. *sigh*. It's ok I can wait, I'll just stare at this tracking page.
Hey I think a pixel burnt out in my CRT! Oh wait, nevermind, that's the tumor in my eye.
NOTE: I'm not an idiot, I know there aren't pixels in a CRT.

I was at Fry's a while ago and the guy said they had them there, ready to go first thing tomorrow. People were asking about them, but he wouldn't get one out or show the packaging.
I'm probably going to dart up to Newport Beach tomorrow for the Apple Store opening up there...if I'm bored and have nothing else to do. Only about 45 minutes from here (probably less if I take the cool, always empty toll road and drive 80mph)...WAY closer and more convenient than the 90-plus minute Glendale schlep.
