okay so i have been using skype hadn't used it in a few weeks loaded it up tonight, made a call the person couldn't hear me. Turns out I can't get my internal mic on my g4 ibook 800mhz to work, always worked fine. Only change I made was updating itunes and quicktime, could this affect anything?

Have you updated to the newest version of Skype?
Did you look in the sys prefs under sound > input what you are using as your input source?

yeah updated to the latest version, and checked internal mic under audio prefs, it's the only option listed anyway.

I was talking about the OS X system prefs, not the one in Skype.

yeah i checked system prefs too, it is set to internal mic, but for some reason it isn't picking up any sound when i speak, when i tap on the mic it pics up a little. It worked fine until recently, could itunes 7 or quicktime caused a conflict?

Which version do you have?
I believe that I recently read something about microphone problems that should have been fixed with the latest version (just a week old or so)!
Maybe the Skype Forum can better help you!?
