Microsoft has released an app for Mac that aims to help teachers work more efficiently with OneNote in a classroom environment. The Class Notebook Tools add-on allows teachers to make changes to their Class Notebooks on Mac, granting more abilities to teachers that makes it easier to manage the contents and to distribute lessons to the class, as well as to monitor the progress of students working on set tasks.
Originally launched in October 2014, OneNote Class Notebooks helps teachers put learning materials into one place, providing lessons to students, enabling collaboration between users, and allowing for feedback on lessons to be returned to the educator. In
March, extra tools were provided to Windows-based teachers that extended the capabilities of OneNote Class Notebooks, with the latest update bringing the same tools to Mac.
Using
Class Notebook Tools for Mac, teachers can distribute pages or sections to students in a class, copy sections in content libraries into multiple notebooks, sequentially review student work, and navigate and browse student notebooks through a student list. The tools also provide extra community and professional development resources to the educator.
The Class Notebook Tools for OneNote 2016 is a free add-on for teachers, so long as they have administrative rights over a Class Notebook.
