For the past few weeks my iMac G5 has been restarting itself when the monter goes to sleep..even though I have programs running. I've tried the {option open apple P R] but that hasn't solved the problem. As for my setting in Energy Saver everything looks fine.

I'm running 10.4.2 btw.

Anyway is welcomed.

Thanks.

this is a known issue. you're going to either need a new logic board or power supply. is your imac less then 1 year old and/or do you have applecare?

Is it a know issue? I've never heard about it before.

It's a Rev 2, 2.0GHz iMac.

The error code in the log is

AppleSMU -- shutdown cause = -122
But I can't find any reference to this anywhere else.

My iMac is about 14 months old, but I had a new power supply about 6 months ago as it was making a high pitched whine.

Anything else I can do, or do I have to get it repaired??

Adam
