I have an Iomega external USB HDD that was plugged in when I updated my OS. Now the drive is no longer visable on the desktop but is listed in the system profiler. I checked the drive on another mac and all info iis still there (thank Christ) so has anyone got a fix for this?

No fix yet. There is a posting of similar issues at macintouch.

Looks like USB-based external storage (CF cards, jumpdrives, etc) sometimes do not work.

I'm going to wait for 10.3.4 to upgrade from 10.3.2.

I need these drives to work on my PB for data transfer.

I had to do a total reinstall. Fortunately I am networked to a couple of G5s and I did'n't loose too much - except a day and a half!
