Facebook's Paper for iOS app has received its first major update since its release, adding notifications for birthdays and events.
Paper allows users to view their Facebook News Feed as well as other content in a magazine-style layout format. Users can tap on the globe icon to check notifications that now include important dates. Photo comments are also now featured, meaning that images can be inserted as part of a comment thread, with or without text. Other features within v1.1.0 are new story buttons, more article covers, accessibility features, and group updates. Paper is free to download for devices running iOS 7.0 or later, and is available through the App Store.
Skitch for iOS updated, adds new sharing categories
Evernote's photo-annotation app Skitch has been
updated, adding new sharing categories for image sharing. Skitch features tools to quickly annotate image with text, arrows and drawings--the update allows users to share their images more efficiently.
The update includes three sharing categories featured below an image after it has been annotated. Users can swipe left for a Meetings option to share the image with those who are part of a scheduled meeting; the center option, Share, publishes the image to Twitter, Facebook, Mail and Messages; swiping right saves the image to one's Camera Roll, to Evernote or the clipboard. Other new features include image captions, and a history of apps the user has connected to through Skitch under the "Frequents" section. Evernote's
Skitch v3.1.1 is available for download on iTunes, and is free to download. Its PDF annotation feature requires a Premium Evernote account.
