I have installed the Draft n enabler, but it causes the Wi-Fi to hang after about an hour and a half... does anyone know how to replace the new driver with the original that came with my MBP?

I have tryed to install Apple drivers manually before, It tends to produce an error message about the extension not being installed properly and therefore not loaded. I presume its a permissions thing, but I spent some time trying to modify them all without success.
You could do an archive and install from the discs which came with the machine.

Thanks for your reply! I'm hoping some more advanced user on this forum might know how to do it... even write a script to do it

I found this on the Apple support forum:

Because I was having so many problems with the recent 802.11 enabler I had to revert to the original driver until apple or linksys fix their issues. Here's my reply to the post:
Apple - Support - Discussions - Pre-n enabler seems to cause issues ...

I have uploaded the original wireless driver from the MacBook Pro install cd here:
http://stream.prostream.net/IO80211.zip

To install it.. Download it to your computer (do not unzip it or permissions will get screwed up). Open up Terminal and type
sudo mv /path/to/80211.zip /System/Library/Extensions
cd /System/Library/Extensions
sudo unzip /System/Library/Extensions/80211.zip
rm -rf 80211.zip

This will restore the original IO80211Family.kext driver that comes with your macbook pro.

Hopefully apple will have an answer soon. But until then, I guess its back to 802.11g

Just a quick bump, to say that I've had the machine running for 10hours now. And the Wi-Fi with the repair I posted before does work. I'm back to "g" speeds, but at least it doesn't crash
