I'm running XP through Parallels and I want to access my two external drives that are connected to my MBP. When I try to access them under the USB option, I get the error "USB device is being used by other processes, please disconnect..."

What should I do?

I'm having the very same problem. Someone mentioned on another thread that this was because in Parallels only gives driver support for USB 1.1. which is why my USB memory stick gives this same message. But when I plug in my Laserjet 1010 through the same USB port I have no problems.

I've seen this on Parallel's user boards, I think. There they had instructions for killing a process, which would then let the guest OS grab the USB stick.

I've tried Parallels support on this issue, but no response. So I emailed their customer support today and asked for a refund, and they gave it me! That's what I call good service. So I'll await future developments and see what happens.
