After a thunder storm yesterday my eMac will not turn on! I have searched the internet extensively with no luck, the only problem that was similiar was that the eMac will turn on but only to display a grey screen...this is not the case!

It acts as though it is not even plugged into the wall even though it is! PLEASE HELP!

Did you try a different outlet? Was it on a surge protector?

Call Apple. Then call your insurance company and check your lightning protection policy.

I had the exact same problem. My eMac was plugged into a surge protector too! I ended up replacing it with a Mac Mini and am waiting for a check from the home owners insurance. I am curious if anyone knows of any way to diganose and fix the eMac. If its just a powersupply issue that should be easy, any thoughts?
