Does anyone know of any restriction on the speed of burning for DVD DL +R media in Toast? I just got some 8x DL DVD+R media and Toast restricts it to burning only at 2x, and I'm wondering where the problem lies (incorrectly labeled media or some restriction in Toast)?

This is a dual 2.7 G5, Pioneer DVR 109 flashed with real, official Pioneer firmware (1.58).

I've burned DVD+R DL at 8x with Toast. It was a NEC 3550A (not what came with my G5).

Maybe your firmware update clashes with Toast or something? Have you tried contacting Roxio?

I did find out that the DVR-109 is supposed to burn +R DL media at up to 6x. The drive/Toast combo seems to have no issues or troubles burning 8x rated DVD-R SL discs at 8x.

What 8x +R DL media did you use? The ones I'm having issue with are Ritek Ridata 8x. Media code RITEKS05.

I think it was verbatim, but I don't keep track of brands.
